Punj Lloyd Group Bags Orders For Rs.3136 Cr

Punj Lloyd, a globally-diversified conglomerate providing engineering, procurement and construction services in oil and gas, petrochemical and infrastructures sectors, with interests in aviation, defence and marine, has bagged two big orders for Rs.3136.29 crore.

The company on July 1 announced that its subsidiary clinched an order for Rs.1263.11 crore ($378 million) LTA project for construction of MRT stations in Singapore. On July 2, it announced securing infrastructure contracts worth Rs.1873.18 crore ($ 387.08 million) for utilities in Libya. The group has experience in executing projects across the globe, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ).

The Delhi-based public company announced on July 1 that its subsidiary Sembawang Engineers and Constructors (Sembawang), the largest engineering and construction companies in Southeast Asia, secured a major contract from Land Transport Authority of Singapore for laying the 16.6-km Downtown Line-2 that will run from Bugis area to Bukit Panjang. This proves the company's capability to execute such projects, said group chairman Atul Punj.

And, Richard Grosvenor, president and CEO of Sembawang, said the company believed its expertise in similar infrastructure construction work, combined with its excellent safety record that contributed to winning the project.
